DESCRIPTION

The Forney® 100 STx is a compact 120V stick and DC TIG welder that adds a bright LCD and arc-force controls to one of Forney’s most popular beginner stick platforms. With up to 85 amps of output and an inverter power supply, it welds from 24 ga through 1/4 in. mild steel while staying small and light enough to carry anywhere you have household power. Backed by a 3-year warranty and Forney® Industries’ 90+ years of welding experience, this starter stick and TIG welder is ideal for home, farm, and light repair work when you want more control than a basic buzz box without giving up portability.

Key features & benefits:

  • Expert-Tech® support gives you a direct line to Forney’s technical team for setup, troubleshooting, and parts; all from real welders based in Colorado, USA.
  • 3-year warranty delivers long-term assurance so you can rely on the 100 STx for years of projects, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Bright passive LCD with large readout delivers a next-generation panel that makes it easy to see your amperage and settings in dim garages or bright outdoor light.
  • Adjustable arc force control delivers the ability to fine-tune the arc for different electrodes so you can reduce sticking, control penetration, and get the arc feel you prefer.
  • Small and lightweight inverter design with carry strap delivers true grab-and-go portability so you can bring the welder and 8 ft leads to the work rather than dragging material to a bench.
  • 120V input power delivers plug-and-play operation so you can weld anywhere you have standard household power or a compatible 120V circuit.
  • Lift start TIG capability (DC TIG) delivers more precise heat control on thin metal so you can make cleaner, more controlled beads when appearance matters.
  • Generator-capable design delivers remote welding capability so you can run from a 4,000 W (120V) generator with no low-idle and 5% THD max when grid power is not available.
CSA certified to meet strict safety and performance standards ensuring reliability and your safety in any work environment.
  • One-knob interface with Expert-Set Hot Start delivers easy amperage adjustment and reliable arc starts so you can strike and maintain an arc more easily when you are learning stick.

In real‑world use, the Forney® 100 STx welding machine plugs into a standard 120V outlet and still lets you weld from thin 24 ga material up to 1/4 in. mild steel in a single pass. Its inverter‑based design and 30% duty cycle at working amps give you practical power for home, farm, and light shop projects without needing special wiring. Arc force and Expert‑Set Hot Start help you strike and hold a stable arc with common electrodes up to 1/8 in., while lift start DC TIG adds finer heat control when you need cleaner welds on thinner steel. At only 6 lb with 7–8 ft leads and a carry strap, this compact machine is easy to carry around your property or run from a properly sized generator when grid power is out of reach.

Ideal for:

  • Home and garage repairs on brackets, mower decks, small trailers, and light structural pieces up to 1/4 in. steel.
  • Farm and property maintenance where a portable 120V stick welder can be carried to the work or run from a generator.
  • DIY projects and hobby welding for users who want to learn stick and DC TIG on a forgiving, compact inverter.
  • Light maintenance and repair work where simple controls, small size, and CSA-certified safety are important.
