DESCRIPTION

The Forney® Easy Weld® 100 ST-i is a compact 120V stick and DC TIG welder that makes it simple to start welding at home, in the garage, or out in the driveway. With up to 85 amps of output and an inverter power supply, it delivers enough power to weld up to 1/4 in. steel while staying small and light enough to carry anywhere you need it. Paired with lift start TIG capability, a one-knob interface, and generator-friendly design, this beginner stick and TIG welder is a great fit for first-time welders and a flexible choice for farm, field, and home repair work.

Key features & benefits:

  • Expert-Tech® support gives you a direct line to Forney’s technical team for setup, troubleshooting, and parts; all from real welders based in Colorado, USA.
  • 120V input power delivers plug-and-play convenience so you can run the welder on standard household circuits without special wiring.
  • CSA certified to meet strict safety and performance standards ensuring reliability and your safety in any work environment.
  • Lightweight inverter design with carry strap delivers a small, easy-to-carry package so you can bring the welder, stinger, and ground clamp to the work instead of dragging material to the bench.
  • Up to 85 amp output with 1/4 in. single-pass capability delivers enough power so you can weld from thin 24 ga material up to 1/4 in. mild steel on brackets, frames, and general repairs.
  • Lift start TIG capability (DC TIG) delivers more precise heat control on thin metal so you can make cleaner, more controlled beads when appearance matters.
  • Generator-capable operation (4,000 W minimum) delivers flexibility so you can weld where there’s no outlet, as long as you have a properly sized 4,000 W generator with no low-idle and 5% THD max.
  • Simple one-knob interface with Expert-Set Hot Start and Arc Force delivers easy amperage adjustment and forgiving arc starts so you can strike and maintain an arc more easily.

These specs mean the Forney® Easy Weld® 100 ST-i plugs into a standard 120V circuit but still packs up to 85 amps of output—enough to weld thin 24 ga material through 1/4 in. mild steel. The 30% duty cycle at 85 amps offers practical arc-on time for repeated welds on brackets, angle iron, and plate. Its inverter power supply and 5.8 lb weight make it easy to carry around the shop or load into a vehicle, while generator-friendly specs let you weld away from fixed power with a properly sized 4,000 W unit. Lift start TIG (torch and gas setup sold separately) gives you room to grow into more precise, cleaner welds as your skills improve.

Ideal for:

  • Home and garage repairs on brackets, mower decks, and small equipment where a compact 120V stick welder is easiest to move.
  • Light fabrication and DIY projects on mild steel up to about 1/4 in, such as workbenches, carts, and small frames.
  • Farm, ranch, and property maintenance using a generator or long extension cord when the work is far from an outlet.
  • Learning stick and basic DC TIG welding on a forgiving, beginner-friendly starter stick welder platform.
